This model is a (full) brogue, with a wing cap and pinking and perforations. The original Budapest last is characterised by its high, slightly forward-tending tip.
The upper leather consists of a brushed two tone scotch grain leather. Scotchgrain combines superb durability with water resistance. It is recognisable by its distinctive pebble grain finish.
The sole is double-stitched with a characteristically Hungarian plaited welt. The characteristic plaited welt is a complicated double stitch, into which two leather strips are plaited by hand. This is an expression of typical Hungarian craftsmanship.
Beneath the insole is a layer of cork, providing additional resilience and insulation.
The double leather outsole is strengthened by 84 brass nails per shoe, in the 6-nail pattern typical of Dinkelacker.
This shoe fit has proven itself for 60 years now, offering plenty of room for the toes and the ball of the foot, and is excellently suited to a high arch.
