Heinrich Dinkelacker soles are from the traditional Rendenbach oak-bark ground-tanning at the tannery in Trier. Rendenbach products play an integral part in the manufacture of exclusive footwear.

Leather with the JR-Brand label is waterproof and extremely abrasion resistant, tough yet flexible, very comfortable to wear and optically distinguished by its attractive grain and warm, woody colour.

JR-Leather is completely biodegradable. It has been tested for harmful substances and certified according to the Medicinal Products Directive (MPG - Germany/Austria) and the ISO 9001.

  • leather sole
    The single leather sole is the lightest one in the Heinrich Dinkelacker collection. All single-sole models are stitch-welted and are nailed only at the heel. The sole leathers come from the Rendenbach Tannery in Trier, Germany, and are made according to the so-called pit tanning process (pure plant materials).
  • double leather sole
    The double leather sole consists of an insole and an outsole. All stitch-welted models with a double leather sole have the triple-nail pattern typical of Dinkelacker on the heel and at the toe. As the sole is somewhat less broad in stitch-welted shoes, fewer brass nails are used here. All double-stitched models have the distinctive six-nail pattern. Every pair has 168 brass pins hammered into the sole by hand. These pins or nails not only serve as ornaments, they strengthen the sole, especially in the areas of greatest wear, and thus contribute to the long life of your Dinkelacker shoes.     The triple leather sole is made by stitch-welting. In this very elaborate process, 132 brass pins per pair are hammered into the sole, and the tip is strengthened by an inserted brass plate. The pins or nails not only serve as ornaments, they strengthen the sole, especially in the areas of greatest wear, and thus contribute to the long life of your Dinkelacker shoes.   • rubber sole
    Friends of Heinrich Dinkelacker shoes need not do without the advantages and comfortable fit of a stitch-welted shoe when a rubber sole is used. The distinctively profiled outsole of rubber is used only as an outsole on models with double and triple soles, and has one or two leather insoles. The rubber sole is water-resistant and good for winter weather. Its flexibility is one more great advantage, along with the excellent shock-absorbing qualities.
